Public Relation of IAIN Parepare – The Center for Quality Development, Student Careers and Alumni (P2MKMA) under the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) of IAIN Parepare explored collaborative opportunities to improve healthcare services for students. The team visited the Branch Office of Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS) and Public Health Office of Parepare, on Thursday (22/02/2024).

Mahyuddin, Head of P2MKMA, explained that this initiative aims to bring healthcare services closer to IAIN Parepare students.

"While IAIN Parepare does not have a health clinic yet, we are exploring various ways to enhance healthcare services for students, including collaborating with BPJS and the Parepare Public Health Office," he said.

Mahyuddin further explained that the collaboration with BPJS would focus on increasing student understanding of BPJS programs, such as National Health Insurance (JKN). Meanwhile, the collaboration with the Health Office would involve a wider range of services, including preventive, educative, and social aspects.

Fuad Guntara, Head of the Career Development Center (CDC) at IAIN Parepare, also met with the Parepare Public Health Office to explore partnership opportunities in providing supporting healthcare facilities for students.

LPM, through P2MKMA and the CDC team, will be implementing the Co-Host (Connecting Health for Students) program in early March. The program will invite representatives from the BPJS Parepare Branch Office and the Parepare City Health Office as speakers, followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The healthcare services will focus on key issues faced by the student community, such as reproductive health, mental health, infectious disease control, and promoting healthy lifestyle habits among students, including free health check-ups. (Mhy/Mif/MM)
